Sponsored Programs Office (formerly: Grants & Contracts)

Sponsored Programs Office (SPO) staff is dedicated to assisting faculty and staff with pre-award and some post-award activities for externally funded research, scholarship and student success programs. SPO staff supports external funding acquisition from public sources (local, state and federal) and contracts from all sources (public and private).

SPO staff also provide administrative and operational support for human subjects research, Faculty Incentive Grants (FIG) and CSU Student Research Competition (SRC). Please navigate to the SPO website to learn more about all the services provided by the Sponsored Programs Office.

University Advancement, Development Services

University Advancement (UA) Development staff work to secure private financial support for CSUMB. This includes gifts and grants from individuals, foundations and corporations. Additionally, planned gifts (wills, trusts, retirement funds, insurance, closely held securities, real property) from individuals and family businesses provide major support.

University Corporation at Monterey Bay (UCorp) staff supports staff and faculty with post-award activities for externally funded research, scholarship and student success programs as well as gifts, grants and endowments to the University.

Teaching, Learning & Assessment

Teaching, Learning & Assessment (TLA) staff supports faculty with internally funded mini-grants called SoTLA Grants which may be used for promoting teaching, learning and assessment within an applicant's discipline.
