CSUMB policy for Human Subjects in Research requires all researchers complete certification in human subjects protections training prior to submitting a protocol (new, changed or external researcher). One way of receiving certification is to complete the computer-based (on-line) training program CSUMB subscribes to.

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI)

CSUMB subscribes to the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) on-line training program. Any researcher affiliated with CSUMB may complete CITI Program training. A completion report will automatically be sent to the Office of Grants & Contracts when you are finished.

San Diego State University's Human Research Protections - Education and Training

San Diego State University's Office of Research Affairs has a variety of education and training materials available at: http://www-rohan.sdsu.edu/~gra/grad/research/hrppTraining.html.

Student researchers may take SDSU's Human Subjects Tutorial instead of CITI training. It is shorter and less thorough than CITI. Researchers who select this training option MUST provide certification of training completion to the Office of Grants & Contracts (unlike CITI, there's no automatic notice to Grants & Contracts when you finish).
